Post-it note strategy

Since I've become so completely scatter brained, I've decided that every time I leave my desk, I need to write on a post-it note what I am leaving it for. That way, if I get distracted, I can look at the note and be on my way.

I tried this today. I got up to go from my corner of the 7th floor down to the first floor to return a document to a VP I had been using as reference. On my way there, I was sidetracked by another VP asking about a different project.

I returned to my desk 15 minutes later with publication still in hand. You have to remember to LOOK at the Post-it note in order for the strategy to work. I'm destined for an unproductive 7 months.
